The system of Distance Education envisages self reliant learning on the part of the student. The system endeavours to provide student support services with a view to guide and facilitate the learner's effort to know, understand and express. |

Student Support Services offered by the Centre |
| |
The Centre provides printed guidance materials in 14 different subjects in the B.A course, 11 subjects in the B.Com. course, 14 subjects under University Entrance Test, and the courses prescribed for certificate courses. |

These materials are provided in four language mediums (English, Gujarati, Hindi, Marathi) for the undergraduate courses in Arts, and in English medium for the undergraduate courses in Commerce. |

For the M.A. courses the Centre provides guidance materials in most of the subjects. In social science subjects guidance is in English medium only. Personal contact programme is in Mumbai, Pune, Dombivali. |

Assignments sent by distance learners are corrected and returned with feedback by subject experts. |
